The Greene County Career Center has signed on with the Montgomery County ESC’s Shared Resources Center for interim treasurer services while the district conducts a search for a full-time treasurer.
Dan Schall, president of OPT Edge, LLC, will serve as interim treasurer until a full-time treasurer is hired.
“In looking for an interim treasurer, I had several options,” said Greene County Career Center Superintendent Dan Schroer. “I could find someone from the county who could do this on a temporary basis, or I could go to an expert in shared services. I knew if we needed someone to be effective, Dan Schall would be the person.”
The SRC was launched by the Montgomery County ESC to help districts like the Greene County Career Center stretch taxpayer dollars in the most efficient and resourceful way possible. Through a unique partnership with OPT Edge, LLC, the SRC offers K-12 school districts temporary, part-time and full-time services. All financial services are provided by fully licensed, bonded and insured professionals with experience in the field.
“School districts increasingly face a shortage of resources, in terms of both finances and time,” said Frank DePalma, superintendent of the Montgomery County ESC. “We created the Shared Resources Center to help alleviate this pressure. From interim services to full-time staff, we help school districts operate more efficiently.”
The Shared Resources Center was launched in December 2013. Since then, it has expanded rapidly as school districts recognize the value and cost-savings that are inherent in the shared services model. Other districts served by the SRC include Kettering City Schools, Fairborn City Schools, Valley View Local Schools, Brookville Local Schools and the Dayton Regional Stem School.
